I really liked an Idea of Nudging Messenger of Contacts. Can we have such Feature implemented fully… not only Reading the Nudge Reaction, but also Giving the Nudge Reaction as well.
Well, it was specified because as more as I know that for Pidgin2 there’s no such full Plugin except of pidgin-nudge that only reads whenever someone wants no nudge you, but you can’t nudge amyone.
Is it fire in the big 2026-2027?
Nudge/attention support should be working just fine in Pidgin 2 without a plugin. Where are you seeing it not working?
Sorry, I don’t know it well. I just don’t see any Action Button for sending Nudge like it looks like in MSN Messenger.
May be Pidgin2 includes Reading of Nudging, but can’t send it s much as I know so far.

It’s the last button in both the group and ungrouped formatting bar layouts.

It’s disabled when it’s not supported by the protocol/chat.
Note, you’ll need to show the formatting bar to see it. options -> show formatting bar

Well MSN and Yahoo did but are no longer supported (we’ve removed the code from pidgin as well).
XMPP/Jabber does but only for direct messages and most clients don’t implement it for various reasons.
Understood. I don’t know, but may be it would be possible to implement to somehow just nudge someone if they have Pidgin as the Client as well… sorry, possibly it can be too hard to implement, but… oh, may be Me being stupid with all those Ideas is actually overwhelming for y’all. My bad.
someone could write a plugin that uses a message or something to do it sure, but we’re going to focus on stuff that’s built into the protocols first.
